I recently had the privilege of taking some pictures of my newly engaged friend and her fiance.  Kaitlin and Jim will be getting married next August in Duluth, MN.  Thanks so much guys for letting me take your pictures.  You guys were a lot of fun to work with, I hope you like them.

A Little Mood Music

So tonight I had a homework assignment due (big surprise, I know).  Homework seems to be my life lately and it is getting harder and harder to motivate my self to do it.  Taking 5 summer classes is turning out to be one of those ideas that seems like a good one at the beginning but now I question what I was thinking.  Anyway, to help myself get motivated I put on a little mood music.  Sometimes this is classical or jazz but tonight I was in a really girly mood so I put on Pandora's Michael Buble channel.  This combined with lighting some scented candles and turing off the overhead light for the bed side lamps I have proved to put me in a better mood and get my work done more efficiently.  I will have to remember this trick in the next couple of weeks when I have my big papers due.  So what's your relax but still be productive trick?  I would love any hints or suggestions you might have.

Bed Time

There should be a rule that says if you go to bed early you will not wake up tired, no matter how early you get up.  I say this because last night I came up to my room at 8 pm, got into my pjs and put in a movie.  At 10 pm I went to sleep.  This morning I attempted to get up at 6:07 am, after hitting the snooze button three times I finally got out of bed around 6:33 am.  This left me less then 15 min. to get ready and leave my house.  I did so successfully but the point is this.  Even though I went to bed really early I still woke up tired.  It is just not right.  If you are responsible and go to be early you should be able to wake up refreshed and feeling rested, not like you are on autopilot or sleep walking.

Those are my thoughts for the day.  It is now 10:30 pm and past my bed time.  Good night!

Success...well sort of.

Lets review the goals for today shall we...
  1. Clear off my bed and make it so I can move out of the guest room downstairs
    1. Well I made a huge dent in the mess that is my room...however, there is still stuff all over my bed so I guess its the guest room again tonight.
  2. Apply for a job
    1. Except for a phone number and a cover letter I have the application done.  This includes the five essay questions that are required.
  3. Return movie to the library
    1. Fail, I didn't even leave the hose today.  But I did make some cookies which was not on the list.
  4. Paint the dresser
    1. Success, I got not one but two coats of paint on the dresser and it is looking very sharp (if I do say so my self)
  5. At least take the dirty laundry downstairs so that maybe my mom will do it for me
    1. Over achiever!  Not only did I take the laundry downstairs I actually worked on it!
So overall I would say it was a very successful day.  Tomorrow I hope to finish the tasks that were not completed today and work on some homework.

Goals for Tomorrow

Goals For Tomorrow...

  1. Clean my room
  2. Apply for a job
  3. Return movie to the library
  4. Paint the dresser
  5. Do laundry
  6. Get ahead on school work
Ok so I know that doesn't sound like a lot but since my room is a total disaster and will probably take at least three days all by its self maybe we should revise.

New Goals For Tomorrow...
  1. Clear off my bed and make it so I can move out of the guest room downstairs
  2. Apply for a job
  3. Return movie to the library
  4. Paint the dresser
  5. At least take the dirty laundry downstairs so that maybe my mom will do it for me
Forget about schoolwork for the day.  I did a lot today so lets pretend its Sat. and that I have the day off. Sounds good. I'll let you know how it goes.

Baby Elijah!

Crazy!  My roommate from two years ago just had a baby!  Robin and Jason got married the summer after Robin and I were roommates, and RA partners.  I got to go down to North Carolina on Wednesday to see the new family of three.  Elijah Daniel Purdy is such a little man!  He is strong for being only 7 weeks old. Of course I had to get some good pictures while I was there.  I took Robin and Jason's engagement pictures  and now I got to take the first semi-professional photos for baby Elijah.  Here are a few for you to preview.

Just Haven't Met you Yet

So I know that I am a hopeless romantic but I really love this song!  It's cute and makes me smile every time I hear it.

I'm not surprised, not everything lasts
I've broken my heart so many times, I stopped keeping track
Talk myself in, I talk myself out
I get all worked up, then I let myself down

I tried so very hard not to lose it
I came up with a million excuses
I thought, I thought of every possibility

And I know someday that it'll all turn out
You'll make me work, so we can work to work it out
And I promise you, kid, that I give so much more than I get
I just haven't met you yet

I might have to wait, I'll never give up
I guess it's half timing, and the other half's luck
Wherever you are, whenever it's right
You'll come out of nowhere and into my life

And I know that we can be so amazing
And, baby, your love is gonna change me
And now I can see every possibility

And somehow I know that it'll all turn out
You'll make me work, so we can work to work it out
And I promise you, kid, I give so much more than I get
I just haven't met you yet

They say all's fair
In love and war
But I won't need to fight it
We'll get it right and we'll be united

And I know that we can be so amazing
And being in your life is gonna change me
And now I can see every single possibility

And someday I know it'll all turn out
And I'll work to work it out
Promise you, kid, I'll give more than I get
Than I get, than I get, than I get

Oh, you know it'll all turn out
And you'll make me work so we can work to work it out
And I promise you kid to give so much more than I get
Yeah, I just haven't met you yet

I just haven't met you yet
Oh, promise you, kid
To give so much more than I get

I said love, love, love, love
Love, love, love, love
(I just haven't met you yet)
Love, love, love, love
Love, love
I just haven't met you yet
